Orion AIM Artificial Intelligence Mission System Release 3.0
The Orion AiTN artificial intelligence tactical network wearable 150-261g radio module and optional quad-core Linux system on module (Orion SoM) enables sharing live-streaming video locally and over the ATAK network. The secure 256-bit AES 25Mbps 2x2 software defined radio (SDR) or optional 92Mbps FIPS 140-2 SDR provides the radio bandwidth for live-streaming UxV video and UxV control hand-off between operators. The FIPS 140-2 self-forming, self-healing battlefield mobile ad hoc network (MANET) leverages X4 to extend the mesh range and improves ISR and decision making at the edge. Orion VAS visual augmentation system software on SoM delivers near instant object classification and leverages the Orion Microservices load-sharing wearable software architecture.
The innovative Orion X nano and small unmanned aerial systems (nUAS/sUAS) set new benchmarks in the 3", 4", 5", 6" and 7" propeller categories for lightweight super performing autonomous platforms. The Orion X4L nUAS weighs as little as 250g, yet features up to seven cameras (dual depth or ToF, hi-res main, hi-res down, thermal, 0.01 lux starlight, VGA tracking), autonomous navigation, swarm missions and obstacle avoidance (dual depth/ToF and optional five-sided LiDAR). The modular Orion RAIL payload system enables lethal & non-lethal payloads to be rapidly changed in the field. The X4LR long range 3,000mAh configuration enables 25-30 minute flights, while X3L breaks another SWaP barrier with full AI and a take-off weight as little as 150g. All feature on-board tensor flow object detection, threat que, full ATAK integration and optional FIPS 140-2 mesh 2x2 SDR enables unprecedented ad-hoc ISR at the edge.
Orion VAS visual augmentation system software resides on GCS or the 17g Orion SoM incorporated into the wearable Orion AiTN SDR module. VAS is part of the Orion Microservices software architecture and provides helmet mounted displays (HMDs) with live-streaming UxV video and ATAK meta data augmented reality (AR) overlays. VAS is tightly integrated with GCS, CONTROL and GATEWAY, enabling real-time video object classification, geo-located visual augmentation and advanced processing at the edge.
AiM is a leader in full ATAK UAS Tool PX4 integration allowing Orion CONTROL enabled UxVs to share video, imaging and data across the ATAK network. The Orion GCS ground control system software architecture includes ATAK, ATAK UAS Tool, OGroundControl and Orion GATEWAY. Orion common controller software adds zero grams to existing tactical tablets like the Samsung Galaxy S20 TE yet allows Nett Warrior end user devices (EUDs) to be multi-functional unmanned aerial and ground vehicle (UxV) controllers and mission planning systems. The Orion GATEWAY ATAK plug-in tightly integrates into GCS enabling UxV control handoff between operators and is designed to enable rapid integration of optional UxV sensors for mission specific use cases such as indoor LiDAR mapping, chemical biological detection, NEON® GPS denied ultrawideband (UWB) locating and the SPEAR® electromagnetic spectrum analysis.
