The Orion ITN (Intelligent Tactical Network) data link is a wearable 100-249g modular radio bay coupled with a 1.5GHz quad-core Linux system on module (Orion SoM) that provides on-device real-time video processing to deliver near instant object classification. Several radio module options allow Orion ITN to be customized to client requirements (range, encryption, data rate). The standard tactical 2x2 software defined radio (SDR) module delivers broadband 25Mbps speed enabling any Orion X sUAS and other Orion ITN equipped battlefield robots to share live-streaming video on ATAK end user devices (EUDs). Optional 100Mbps SDR modules generate a long range (100km), secure 256-bit AES, self-forming, self-healing battlefield mobile ad hoc network (MANET), improving ISR and decision making at the edge.
The innovative Orion X series nano and small unmanned aerial system (nUAS/sUAS) platform is the first in a series of lightweight super performing Orion flying robots. The Orion X5 sUAS is cargo pocket sized, yet delivers fully autonomous navigation capabilities via depth sensing cameras and six-sided lidar obstacle avoidance. Its payload bay can be loaded with batteries for 40+ minute endurance or partially used for deployable payloads depending on the mission profile. On-board tensor flow object detection, optional thermal cameras and an Orion ITN SDR enable unprecedented ad-hoc ISR at the edge. The Orion X4 nUAS provides nearly the same capabilities and yet weighs 249g ready to fly.
Orion VAS (visual augmentation) software resides on the 17g Orion SoM incorporated into the wearable Orion ITN SDR module, enabling real-time video object classification and recognition, geo-located visual augmentation and advanced processing at the edge.
Orion GCS enables end user devices (EUDs) to be multi-functional ground control stations (GCSs) while Orion GATEWAY allows any ATAK device to be part of the Orion ecosystem. Optional sensors include the MOSA chemical biological detection system, the NEON® GPS denied ultrawideband (UWB) location system and the SPEAR® electromagnetic spectrum analysis system.
